WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL
(MILL LANE AND SULHAM HILL, TIDMARSH AND SULHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2022

West Berkshire District Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Mill Lane and Sulham Hill in the Parishes of Tidmarsh and Sulham between its junction with Long lane and its junction with The Street.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Chapel Hill, Lower Elmstone Dr, Dark La, Long La, Reading Rd, Tidmarsh Rd, The Street, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for contractors to carry out overhead line maintenance.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 25th April 2022. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 26th and 27th April 2022. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.
The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected
