(READING ROAD (A329), LOWER BASILDON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2021
West Berkshire District Council has made an Order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Reading Road in Lower Basildon between its junction with Park Wall Lane and its junction with Hook End Lane. The alternative route for local vehicles (non HGV) affected by the Order is via Streatley Hill, Road known as Reading Rd, Aldworth Rd, Pangbourne Rd, Pangboume Hill and vice versa.
The alternative route for HGV's is via A239 (toward Wallingford), A4130, A4074 (to Reading), A4155, A329, and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for contractors to install a new service connection. The proposed Order will come into effect on 26th July 2021. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place from Saturday 31 st July until 6am Monday 2nd August 2021. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.
The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected.
