North Yorkshire County Council, Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles in Excess of 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight Except for Access, Various Roads in the Dalton/Sessay Area, Order 2020

Notice is hereby given that North Yorkshire County Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1), 2(2), 2(4) & 3(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which will be to prohibit any heavy commercial vehicle (i.e. any goods vehicle which has an operating weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes) from proceeding along any road or length of road specified in Schedule 2 below, except for certain permitted purposes which include access to or from premises situated on or adjacent to any of those roads, for the purposes of agriculture on land accessible from and only from any of those roads or for the garaging, servicing or repairing of a vehicle at premises accessible from and only from any of those roads.

Schedule 1 - Revoke the existing "(Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) (Various Roads in the Dalton/Sessay Area) Order 2002" in its entirety. Schedule 2 - Introduce the following '(Prohibition of Heavy Goods Vehicles in excess of 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight Except for Access) (Various Roads in the Dalton/Sessay Area)' restriction:-C168, Moor End Lane/ Sandy Lane/ Islebeck Lane/ Willow Bridge Lane from its junction with the southern side of the unclassified road which passes to the south of Low Moor Farm and leads to the A19, south westwards to its junction with the C99 in Dalton Village; Unclassified road Water Lane Dalton for its entire length; Unclassified road Back Lane Dalton for its entire length; Unclassified road Village Street Dalton for its entire length; C99, Dalton Lane/Low Lane From a point 767 metres east of its junction with Eldmire Lane eastwards through Dalton, Little Hutton and Hutton Sessay to the A19; Unclassified road Church Lane from its junction with the C99, Low Lane in Hutton Sessay south westwards to its junction with the C179 Race Lane at Little Sessay; C179 Race Lane from its junction with the C99 at Little Hutton southwards through Sessay and Little Sessay to its junction with the C86 near Thornton Bridge; Unclassified road Eldmire Lane/Ox Close Lane/ Blind Piece Lane from a point immediately south of its junction with the vehicular access to Dalton Industrial Estate eastwards to its junction with the C99 at Dalton Moor; Unclassified Loop Road to the south of Ox Close Lane for its entire length from its junction with Eldmire Lane to its junction with Blind Piece Lane; Unclassified road Hutton Rae Lane from its junction with the A19 south westwards to its junction with the C99 Low Lane; Unclassified road Moor Lane from its junction with the A19 westwards to its junction with the C168 Sandy Lane; Unclassified road Fawdington Road for its entire length; Unclassified road linking Blind Piece Lane and the C179 Race Lane for its entire length. A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton during normal office hours between 31/07/20 & 24/08/20 & also available to be viewed online at
