ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (PURLEY-ON-THAMES, FOOTPATH 8/2 (THE THAMES FOOTPATH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2020
West Berkshire District Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit persons from using footpath 8/2 Purley-On-Thames (The Thames footpath) from a point 150 metres north west of Mapledurham Lock to a point 50 metres further to the north west.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to be executed on or near the Footpath, namely installation of a fish pass. Pedestrians will be diverted around a temporary path around the rear of the works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 30th March 2020 and the works are expected to last for ten weeks. The order shall remain in force for 6 months or until works are completed whichever is the sooner.
