NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION
Highways Act 1980
The Borough of Blackburn with Darwen Footpath 209 Darwen (part) Public Path Diversion Order 2019
On 3rd October 2019 Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council confirmed without modifications the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath as described in Schedule 1 to this Notice onto the route described in Schedule 2 and as shown on the Order Map.
A copy of the Order and Map may be examined free of charge at the Information Desks, Town Hall, Blackburn and Town Hall Darwen on Mon-Fri inclusive between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. (excluding Bank Holidays). Copies of the Order may be purchased at the price of 50p.
The order comes into force on 3rd October 2019, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 3rd October 2019 make an application to the High Court.

SCHEDULE 1 - LINE OF EXISTING ROUTE
The part of Public footpath 209 Darwen to be diverted is shown on the attached plan by a solid grey line at points A-B. Public footpath 209 Darwen runs from Point A (SD 70245 20444) where it follows the route of the Reservoir Embankment in an Easterly direction for 194m to Point B (SD 70442 20426).
SCHEDULE 2 - LINE OF DIVERSIONARY ROUTE
The proposed diversion route is shown on the attached plan by the broken black line A-C-B. From Point A (SD70245 20444) the diversion route will follow an existing 1.8m wide crushed stone path running in a Southerly direction for 53m to point C (SD70269 20397) where the path then runs in a North Easterly direction for 187m to point B at (SD 70442 20426)
