WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL

(OVERDOWN ROAD, TRING ROAD, FAIRFORD ROAD, TILEHURST) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND TEMPORARY 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT AND NO WAITING) ORDER 2019 West Berkshire District Council has made an Order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Overdown Road, between its junction with Brooksby Road and its junction with Dark Lane. This order also prohibits any person from causing a vehicle to exceed twenty miles per hour in any direction, or wait over Tring Road & Fairford Road, no waiting will be permitted 12 hours prior to the start of closure to facilitate works.

The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Dark Lane, Long Lane, Knowsley Road, A329 (Oxford Rd), into Overdown Road and vice versa The purpose of this Order is to enable contractors to replace the Gas main within the carriageway The proposed Order will come into effect on 5th August 2019. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 5th August 2019 and 14th February 2020. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.

The Order shall not take effect until signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 have been erected
