BENKO Jozsef Peacefully on Friday 20th May 2022 at his home, Jozsef aged 84 years, the precious and much loved husband of Marjorie and the late Doreen, the dearest dad "pops" of Stephen, Janet and Julie also the dearest, amazing, caring grandad, great grandad and stepfather. Jozsef will be very sadly missed by all his devoted family and friends and everyone who knew him. Funeral Service will take place on Monday 30th May 2022 at 11.15am at St John Vianney RC Church Blackburn, prior to cremation at Pleasington Crematroium at 12.15. Grandad is deeply missed by his loving family.

It’s nice to read your tribute, Thankyou for sharing this! I love hearing stories about grandad and grandma in their prime, enjoying their life together. My dad (Stephen) also remembers the polish stall and how it was a social gathering / shopping trip.

Our families love for Hungary continues, I even got married in Budapest in 2018, I had never seen my grandad smile so much. Happy times.

Joe and my late father met when they left Hungary in 1956 and they remained acquaintances. I remember bumping into Joe and the late Doreen when I went into Blackburn town centre on Saturday with my dad as a boy. Quite often they'd chat at the Polish stall in the market. I would have liked to have talked to Joe after my dad passed, but I no longer live in the area. I will remember Joe as warm and friendly, he always had time for us, and especially his sheepskin coat! God bless to Joe's friends and family.
