GRACE Davies missed out on the X Factor title last night to the group Rak Su.

Grace had been an early front runner to win the show but the bookies made the Simon Cowell four-piece Rak Su firm favourites for the final show.

The 20-year-old from Langho sang two more original songs on the final night, including 'Too Young', which she had performed earlier in the series.

But it wasn't quite enough to win it for Grace – who was cheered on at the London ExCeL Arena by friends and family.

She was hailed by the judges – including X Factor boss Simon – who said her original songs during the series had changed reality shows forever.

Grace said: “I have had the most amazing time.”

Judge Louis Walsh: “You’ve done the small gigs in the pubs and this is your big chance.

“You are an amazing singer, an amazing song writer and an amazing performer and no matter what happens tonight you are going to be a star.”

Grace’s mum Cheryl, said: “I didn’t know she was at her first audition.

“She rang me and said I have done the X Factor audition and they’ve put me through.

“I’m so so proud of her.”

Mentor Sharon Osbourne said: “You have worked so hard for so long. I’m just so, so happy for you right now.”

Nicole Scherzinger said: "What an unbelievable song writer you are.

“It takes guts to get up there week after week and it’s just so unbelievable."
