A REPLY has been received from the highways department at Lancashire County Council regarding residents' fears surrounding the poor lighting in Church Square.
Highways have found the existing lighting to be obsolete and will therefore try to secure funding in the next financial year for improvements.
However, several lighting columns are to be replaced imminently.
Services to the lighting columns are made via United Utilities who may take several months to attend and highways have no control over this.
