Wine circle meeting held

THE Wine Circle are offering another full programme of exciting and tempting events to tickle your taste buds during 2008. The Annual General Meeting saw the appointment of the following officers: Chairman - Arthur Cassidy; Vice Chairman - Harry Halstead; Secretary - June May; Vice Secretary - Lynda Farrar; Treasurer - Jim Leaver; Vice Treasurer - Christine Dean.
The winners and runners up of the Wine Makers Competition for 2007 were: Dry white wine, 312 points - Arthur Cassidy; Sweet white wine 360 points - Arthur Cassidy; Dry red wine 253 points Janice Metcalfe; Sweet red wine 382 points - Janice Metcalf.
Congratulations to them and to all who entered marvellous wines last year. The overall winner of the annual trophy was the stalwart wine maker, Arthur Cassidy.
