THE Parish Share to be paid by St John's Chuch to the Diocese in 2008 has been confirmed at £40,750 which represents an increase of 5.3 per cent.

Capitation requests have been received once again from St Christopher's and St Wilfred's schools which will be paid, and parents of children attending both schools are to be sent letters informing them of the Church's contribution.

The price for catering events has increased to £13.50 per head from January 1. The Christmas Fair was very successful and raised £1,450. £525 was raised for St. John's Christmas Appeal on behalf of the MENCAP Society of Burnley, Nelson and Colne.

The Vicar expressed his sincere thanks to everyone who was involved in the Cantata which was its usual outstanding success. A Parish Lunch is to take place on Sunday January 20 with a special guest appearance by the Archdeacon of Blackburn - please watch the notice board for more details.
