Entries are are now being taken for the Bob Birds Chippy mixed doubles bowling competition.

This is taking place on Sunday April 27th starting at 10am.

If you're interested, it will be held at Lowerhouse Bowling Green, Lowerhouse Lane.

The entry fee is £6 per couple with £100 first prize and prize money for the last eight.

All entries to be sent to B Smith or you can contact D Croasedale, Bowling Club secretary, on 01282 774960 Printers Fold in the lowerhouse area has been targetted recently with sat nav,s,quad bikes,cycles stolen and 2 garages broken into,please make sure you do not leave any valuables on display in your vehicles.

Local Rosegrove butcher Stephen Berkins has been winning awards again in the connoissers week,he won two Gold awards,one for Sweet Cured Bacon and another Gold for Traditional Bacon,well done again.

Dont forget the St Mark,s centenial service at church tonight starting at 7.30pm with the Bishop of Burnley the Rev John Goddard,on Saturday April 4th from 10am-4pm and Sunday 5th April from 12noon -4pm in the hall there is a centenial exhibition,the first social function of the year for the church was a well attended coffee morning which raised a total of £168.
