Its that time of year again when we are all planning ahead for our summer holidays. The team just wanted to post a few helpful reminders before you take that well deserved break.
We would like to thank the vigilant members of the public who contaacted us this past weekend with information about these vehicles. Due to your help we have been able to issue Section 59 warnings to the motorists. Should they or anyone else be caught on the same vehicles then we can seize the bikes with the help of AAA and traffic officers.
We are appealling for help from anybody who may be able to identify the riders of two scooters who are using the whitepath as a cut through from Rishton to Great Harwood. One of the vehicles has the registration of NK06 DEC, the other is a green 1960's style scooter.

Children In St Charles School Help Others 6:07pm Sun 16 Mar 08 St Charles School Council voted to do something for Sports Relief. So, on Friday 14th March, the children wore their sports clothes, collected sponsor money from their parents and took part in a run around the yard. Most of the children completed six laps which was 1 mile. Even the teachers and support staff joined in! The total raised was £149.71
The children have been incredibly generous towards charities this Lent holding a Wear What You Want Day for CAFOD and raising £167.51 as well as collecting loose change and contributing to the Catholic Children's Rescue Society. £107.19 has been handed in already.
Many people take great care when securing their homes but pay little attention to the security of their sheds, garages or outbuildings that are often used to store valuable property.
The next meeting of Rishton in Bloom is on the 2nd of April at 7.30pm taking place at St. Peter and St. Paul's Parish Church.
MFI HR Dept 12:40pm Thu 6 Mar 08 Many thanks to MFI for kindly sponsoring some Rainjackets for Rishton Utd U8's Red. With this weather they will get well used!!
An opportunity has arisen for the people of Rishton to help the Rishton PROSPECTS Panel provide seating around the district for ramblers and casual users alike, but we cannot do this alone! We would like as many people as possible to become involved.
'PROSPECTS' was Hyndburn's response to the challenge issued by the largest meeting of world leaders at the time at an Earth Summit in Rio in 1992 when 179 governments agreed an action plan called Agenda 21 to deal with the earth's environmental problems. This recognised the great power of individual and collective group action and the importance of local communities. This is the principle behind the phrase, 'Think globally - act locally.' It led to the setting up of seven PROSPECTS Panels in different districts of Hyndburn , of which the Rishton Panel is one. While the Panels are autonomous, they are now supported by the PROSPECTS Foundation which is a community owned local charity that works for lasting environmental change in Hyndburn. For more information, click on the heading above.
