Thinking of getting an allotment? Or growing a bit of veg in your garden? This is for you.

The next in Rossendale Climate Change Group's series of monthly talks centring round what we can actually do about it' is on growing vegetables.

Food prices are going to soar so it's going to make economic as well as environmental sense to grow as much of our own food as we can.

Vegetables: the way I grow them' will be given by David Metcalfe F.N.V.S. at Alder Grange School Calder Road Rawtenstall on Tuesday April 22nd at 7.30.

Mr Metcalfe should know his onions.

He's the champion onion grower in Britain.
