On Sunday 12th October there is an organised walk around Haslingden Grane.You meet at Helmshore Textile Museum at 1.45pm and the walk proceeds via Holden Wood Reservoir heading for the Clough Head Visitor Car Park on Grane Road. From there you proceed along a track that intersects with the quarry access road, before following paths that access the cemetery near to the Holcombe Road junction and then pass a memorial wood on your way back to the museum.

Nicola and Daniel Sheridan have taken over the cafe at Haslingden Community Link. The cafe had been closed since Jigsaw Pantry moved out. This will be welcome news to all members of the local community because the Sheridans intend to cater for the centre and anyone else who would like to use the service. The cafe is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.

Haslingden Community Link & Children's Centre on Bury Road tell us that Advice Links, their One Stop Shop for advice on a range of issues, has been joined by the national homeless charity SHELTER who will be attending the advice sessions every alternative Wednesday 10-12 from the 8th October 2008. This will be Rossendale’s only SHELTER drop in and anyone experiencing housing problems/homelessness can call in for expert housing legal advice. No appointment necessary.
