    Happy Birthday to the Batesons

The Railway Hotel in Pleasington is having a special event this weekend to celebrate Keith and Anne Bateson's first successful year as landlord and lady.

Keith rang me up last week to tell me about this event but primarily to make sure that he thanked all the customers and Pleasington residents for their support, kind words and for making them feel welcome.

To celebrate, Keith has once again booked in a band to entertain the party-goers - a trio by the name of Threepenny Bit.

Two of the band's members are also part of Mooncoyn, a celiedh band based in Lancashire.

Anne and Keith are putting on a free supper as well which I'm assured cannot be missed - a selection of Carr's pasties from Bolton.

Everyone is welcome to attend and when it costs nothing to go down, you have no excuse!

Keith told me that he hopes to enjoy the evening rather than work, and I should be down there too to help them enjoy the party. I never turn down an invitation to a party!

It starts at 8.30pm but don't expect to get into bed early!

    See you there!
