 The Mary Hindle Centre hosts regular community classes including a youth club and Asian Ladies group. A Haslingden woman was wrongly accused of criminal activity during protests against the introduction of mechanical loomweavers in the later 1800's and was deported to Australia. The centre is named in her honour.

 To approach Haslingden from Blackburn you can 'go o'er tops' and drive through the countryside that surrounds the area.
 The church of St. James which is situated on Church Lane, was alledgedly founded before 1284!

 The sculpture is one of East Lancashire's many panopticons, a structure which allows the viewer to see all internal parts from a single point. It is situated at Top o'Slate, above Haslingden.
