 The statue on the Boulevard cost £25,000 in 1997. It has been subject to vandalism on a nunber of occasions, most recently, the child's arm was sawn off.
 Mercer and Son, Ltd was established in 1840 and has been succesfully trading ever since!
 The foundation stone of this building was laid by King George V, on his visit to Blackburn, July 10, 1913. Prior to this, it was due to be named 'Public Hall'
