    Some of the players and parents of Padiham Saints took part in a sponsored walk up Pendle Hill on Saturday 12th April to raise money for new equipment and strips for next season.

    Library to host craft session

    Padiham Library is to present a childrens' "Craft Session" for ages 4+ on Friday 11th April from 3.30 - 4.30pm. There will also be "Storytime" for toddlers and pre-school children, on Thursdays from 12.15 - 3.00pm during term time only. Contact 01282 771640 for details.

    Markets coming to Padiham

    Cottage Industry Markets are to be staged on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, behind Padiham Town Hall. Stalls will include hand made jewellery, specialised confectionery, local dressmakers, arts and crafts and many more. For more information ring 01282 776556.

    Clerk office opening times change
    9:19am Thursday 10th April 2008
    With effect from Monday 14th April, the Town Clerk's Office hours are to be from 10.00am - 1.30pm. To make the most effective use of these hours, they will be split as follows: 10.00 - 11.00am drop-in sessions for members of the public, 11.00am - 1.30pm office administration and Town Councillors by appointment. No appointments will be made after 1.15pm.

    New mayor chosen

    At the recent Padiham Town Council meeting, nominations for the position of Mayor and Deputy Mayor, for the municipal year 2008/9, were received. Councillor Mark Jinkinson was nominated as Mayor and Councillor Vince Pridden as Deputy Mayor, both with unanimous votes. The Mayor Making ceremony will take place on Monday 12th May.

    Council issues thanks after archive donation

    A letter of thanks has been sent, by the Padiham Town Council Archive Group, to Mr Tom Targett of Baxi Heating, for his generous donation of photographs and memorabilia on behalf of the company. These items will be displayed in the September Archives Exhibition.

    Major projects get underway

    Work has commenced on two of the major projects in the town: the Linear Park and the Riverside Walk.
