I'm writing this on Easter Sunday afternoon; a little drowsy following a lovely Sunday lunch - and a very early start!
The Friends of St Mary's CE School, Mellor have teamed up with the Rotary Club and will take part in the Fun Run at Witton Park on Sunday 20th April in aid of Cancer Research.
The speaker at the April meeting of St. Mary's MU Mellor will be Rev Norman Atty from Whalley who has taken some of the services at St Mary's whilst a new vicar is appointed.
All of Mellor's residents are welcome to attend the public session of the next Parish Council meeting.
Palm Sunday 3:10pm Wed 5 Mar 08 On Palm Sunday, which is March 16, at 6.30pm the choir of St. Mary's Church, Mellor will present ' The Crucifixion' music for Choir and Congregation.
More paper please! 3:08pm Sun 2 Mar 08 A skip for the collection of waste paper and card will be in position in the car park of St. Mary's School, Brundhurst Fold, Mellor during the weekend of 14-16 March.
Mothers Union next speaker arranged 3:04pm Sat 1 Mar 08 The Mothers' Union of St. Mary's Church, Mellor will meet on Tuesday, 11th March when Mrs Louise Edge will talk about her 'Life at Fairfield'.
International Women's Day of Prayer 2:50pm Fri 29 Feb 08 For over 30 years the four local churches in Balderstone, Osbaldeston and Mellor have joined together to celebrate this annual Day of Prayer.
Parishioners took part this week in an ecumenical service at St Mary's, Osbaldeston to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The address was given by Rev. Jim Garrard of St Leonards, Balderstone.
There will be a service to mark the centenary of the first Week of Prayer for Christian Unity at St. Mary's Church, Osbaldeston on Wednesday 23rd January at 7pm.

If you are planning on setting of fireworks during the coming weeks, please be aware of the firework's curfew and consider your neighbours, as sound travels a long way.
I am aware that there are little or no facilities for your children in and around the Mellor area but please can you make sure that as parents or guardians you are aware of where your children are, who they are with and what they are up to.
