Work has been completed to install new iron railings around the Huncoat stocks.

These are of a neat modern design painted black to compliment the village antiquity.

A gate has been incorporated to facilitate access for cleaning and maintenance.

The old ones had been badly damaged by a motor collision in icy weather two years ago.

The renovation has been arranged and funded by Huncoat Area Council as Phase One of the Stocks refurbishment scheme. Phase Two may see some work done to repair and preserve the actual stocks themselves. The next public meeting of Huncoat Area Council is on Tuesday 4th March at 7:00pm in Huncoat Primary School.
