Along with many others at the present time, Hapton Post Office is under threat of closure.
The residents of Hapton have shown their objection to the proposed closure by complaining to their MP, their local Councillors and to the Parish council. All of the above have shown their support to kepp the Post Office Open.
The elderly residents in the sheltered accomodation on Water St. will be among the worst hit if the closure goes ahead. They will have to have their pensions paid into a bank - there is no bank in Hapton! Nor is there a hole-in-the-wall or ATM money outlet.
To travel to padiham post office, the bus would only take the pensioners as far as the Bridge Inn, Padiham. From there it is quite a walk to the post office, then back again to the bus stop for the return journey.
Please show your support.
