    Stepping Out Health Walks in Gt Harwood

    Breast Feeding Group starting Friday 9th May 2008 10-11am

    Breast Feeding mums in Great Harwood can come along with their babies to Great Harwood Christian Fellowship Church for some peer support. The group will be supported by Great Harwood Children's Centre.You will have the opportunity to direct the group.The group will be running on Friday mornings from 10-11am. It is a great chance to meet other Breast Feeding mums and get support from each other.

    Great Harwood Town re-union?

    Towards the end of last season, some of the GHTFC supporters met up for a re-union at Darwen FC's final game. Does anyone fancy meeting up again this season. If so, where? Darwen's final home game is this Thursday so that's going to be too early.

    Here's what happened when a 'crew' of us Great Harwood Town supporters travelled to Oldham Town to see our heroes in action. The www.greatharwoodtown.co.uk web-site has many more adventures as well as all sorts to do with the club.

There will be a resident artist to help you together make and then take away crafty things to bring favourite stories to life. Just drop-in between 2:00 and 5:00pm on Monday 14th April at Great Harwood library-no charge.

    Someone, or a group of people, have done an excellent job of clearing all the accumulated litter from the 'Fir Trees'. It's like a new pin up there now!!

    Somebody knocked on my door the other night to tell me that some kids are going down back alleys, taking the bins in an effort to set them on fire. I went out on to the street and there were eight bins all lined up ready too light, good job the member of the public walked passed to hear them bragging, about what they were going to do!

    My Children's school, St Johns, celebrated World Book day by dressing up as a character from their favourite book! Keenan went as a Footballer, which one i don't know, there's that many biographys out there. Bree went as the "Cat in the hat, Trent went as Charlie from Charlie and the chocolate factory, complete with his Golden Ticket! Got to admit though he looks more like "Oliver Twist" and Evan went as Horrid Henry!

    9 teams of Cub Scouts from Accrington, Oswaldtwistle, Clayton le Moors and Gt Harwood took part in a 5 a side football Knockout at Bowley Campsite recently to find the Hyndburn District Cubs Champions.

    A lamp post, situated on Park road near the junction of windsor rd, has been speedily removed by the council after the high winds of the previous night. the lamp post had begun to up root from its base and was in danger of causing serious damage to passing traffic!
