Excellent Turnout for Local History!

Despite some incorrect advertising (it worked to our advantage Nafeesha, Thanks) with regards the Graveyard Survey classes Darwen Local History Society had a successful April meeting with an attendance of 75 people, an excellent turnout. Thanks to everyone who attended.

The next meeting is on 19th May at 7.15pm and held at the usual venue the Bridge St Sport & Social Club (former ICI).

Refreshments are available and the venue also has disabled access.

The speaker for the evening will be Dr Steve Caunce from Preston who will be presenting his talk on farming in the Pennines, entitled Not enough corn to feed the chickens: Farming in the Industrial Pennines' Members £1.00, non-members £2.00 everyone welcome for more information please contact Pauline on 01254-775707 or darwenhs@hotmail.co.uk
