Colne is going to be in the limelight. One of the main "Gateways into Colne", the Railway Viaduct, is to have floodlights installed.
The approach along Burnley Road A56 from Nelson up into Colne is dominated by the Viaduct in the foreground and the distinctive skyline of the Parish Church Tower, the Town Hall and Norway House.
The Project to floodlight the Arches of the Viaduct has been funded by the Railway Heritage Trust, Colne Market Town Partnership "Colne Connected" and the Colne Neighbourhood Management Team with the support of Pendle Borough Council. Network Rail and Northern Rail have been consulted and agree to this Project.
This low cost initiative will help to put Colne on the Map and give a very visible, high profile, gateway approach to the Bonny Town on the Hill.
