What a Difference Following a Huge Effort
    9:23pm Sunday 27th April 2008
With a lot of phone calls and bombing a lot of people with emails, the day of the Waterside Millennium Green Clean Up arrived. The litter pickers and gloves had been collected from Pendle Borough Council, the skip had been delivered, and it looked a big un too; the only thing not pre arranged was the weather.

I promise I won't plug things too often. Otherwise, you might accuse me of being a sellout. My friend has been bothering me for the past few weeks to get the word out about this, though and so, for the sake of my ears and sanity I will relent.

    8:05pm Tuesday 8th April 2008
So, I wake up on a Monday morning, throw away my duvet and stand, sleepy-eyed and in need of coffee. Downstairs, I fill up on my favourite beverage before checking my change, grabbing The Booklet and heading out into the day, hiding beneath my hood to keep away the rain.

Lack of Blue Light A & E Puts Lives at Risk
Lack of Blue Light A & E Puts Lives at Risk
    5:42pm Fri 14 Mar 08
I hope Pendle Borough Council's unanimous Motion calling for the return of the full "Blue Light" A & E Facilities at Burnley General Hospital is successful. Burnley Borough Council have passed a similar Motion. Pendle MP, Gordon Prentice, has urged the 2 Councils to meet with East Lancashire Primary Care Trust, the NHS Commissioning Body, to review the decision to downgrade this Service. This would, hopefully, put pressure on the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust to reinstate the full A & E Service.
What a Great Days Work at Ball Grove
What a Great Days Work at Ball Grove
    6:51pm Sat 8 Mar 08
With a forecast for heavy rain in East Lancashire I wondered the wisdom of the organising of a working party on the river in March. As an Angler, I don't suppose I mind the rain, but it is hard work for the people on the banks; pulling up all the plastic bags and rubbish that we extricate from the river. As it turned out in the main the rain held off barring a couple of showers and a lot of work was done on the river, banks and the general area of Ball Grove. Some of the Anglers that turned up to work had never fished the river or been up there, so for them it was quite a good experience in so much as it opened up new avenues for them to fish and enjoy.

    Meep Meep.... vrooom.
    2:35pm Monday 11th February 2008
Not the most descriptive of headlines. I'll admit that. I've been struggling with ideas of what to write about, and the idea of me chasing an idea like Wile E. Coyote chases the Road Runner is what eventually gave me a clue as to what I should write. Do you think that the Road Runner would get fined if he went past a speed camera? I mean, he's pretty distinctive, so he doesn't need a registration plate, or would he be too fast?
