THE Parish Council has had complaints from residents about overgrown shrubs, trees, ivy, etc., encroaching on to pavements and causing an obstruction to pedestrians.

Library Revamp

Haslingden Library is set to have £325,000 spent on its upgrading and refurbishment in the near future. All facilities and activities will benefit from the upgrade including the introduction of more learning sessions such as musical instrument lessons.

'No waiting' zone introduced in Lowerhouse

Name of Titanic Band Master: "The Wallace Hartley" for Colne Pub

Local Colne Historians have objected to a Pub being named after teetotaller, Wallace Hartley, the famous Band Master, who played on while the Titanic sank in 1912.
Worsthorne Councillor inspeacts allotments

Haslingden & Helmshore Band have won first prize at the Pontin's National Brass Band championships at Prestatyn Sands, North Wales. The band have now won first prize at the Butlin's and Pontin's championships in the same year.
