Blackburn and Darwen residents asked to donate old phones for good cause

PEOPLE are being urged to donate unwanted mobile phones to help raise cash for charity.

So far bosses at Age Concern Blackburn with Darwen said they have raised £200 on the scheme.

A spokesman said: “If you’ve received a new mobile phone for Christmas you can help raise much needed funds for Age Concern by recycling any old, unwanted mobile phones.

“For every phone collected Age Concern receives £3 regardless of its condition.

“All monies raised go directly towards supporting services for local older people.”

Call Age Concern Blackburn with Darwen on 01254 266620 or email enquiries@ageconcernblackburn.co.uk for free post envelopes to send your old mobiles in.

Or you can visit the offices at 4 King Street in Blackburn, Darwen Town Hall or the shop at 3 Market Street, Darwen.
