The leaders of the first division were made to play hard to retain their position. Facing a strong Clitheroe “A” side at Rishton, Blackburn Seniors “A” found themselves winner of a close match. Whilst the home side secured a final game score of 12 – 8, they only managed to claim this victory by just 8 aces. The new Rally Points System of scoring, introduced into the league this season, is proving to make matches more competitive. The "Seniors" side will need to exert more pressure on teams if they want to remain at the top of the first division. Halsteads now move into second place following their defeat of St Philips, but the visitors were able to claim extra bonus points to move them of bottom place. The top of the second division is still dominated by Telecom ”A” and Abacus “A” who both took comfortable victories over third placed Olympic and St Nicholas.
