17 MAY----13 JULY Textiles, Photography, Mixed Media By Jacqueline Smith Chris Robinson and Chris Burns Jacqueline Smith.Studied are at Winchester School of Arts and now produces her hand painted embroidered illustrations from her studio at Higherford Mill at Barrowford Chris Robinson's photographic work deals with observations on nature and people, with a focus on objects within the natural environment. Some graphic pieces reflect his background in advertising dealing with pattern and commercial images Chris Burns.is a Blackburn based artist and illustrator. He has held numerous successful exhibitions in and around Lancashire since 1993.Chris often works in mixed media but sepicialises in graphic and ink studies .He is currently combining his fine artwork and techniques with digital technology

Barrowford show looking for volunteers

Barrowford Show is on the look out for volunteers to help out at this years Show which will be held on Sunday 24th August, We are looking for anyone who would be interested in taking on The Children's Section or the Horticultural Section on the Show there will be members on the day to help out. A decision will be made at the Next Show Meeting on April 24th at the Parish Council Offices starting at 8p.m. if by that time nobody has come forward to offer their services for the two sections then the Two Sections will be shelved for this Year, with the hope we can bring them back Next Year.

Fun in the snow 7:21pm Wed 26 Mar 08 Sunday morning and my 1yr old daughter let us know it was feeding time (7am). I looked out of my bedroom window (facing Barrowford Park) and was greeted by a scene straight from a postcard. The park was covered with a blanket of snow just waiting to be sledged on.
