I wish to retract my article on the Your Barnoldswick website on January 25th 2008.
When the photographs of the Wetland were taken, I was completely unaware of the future plans of this area and with hindsight should really have waited until I was fully aware of the facts.
The two houses mentioned have never been flooded as they were still under constuction and the wetlands have never broken their banks.
This article was incorrect. I can only apologise
for my misjudgement.
I would like to say that this site has made a great improvement to this area since the mill was pulled down and this development could not be in a nicer location of Barnoldswick as it is so close to the open countryside.

N.T.L. have made a transformation of this site and enhanced the whole area.
This construction has had I think everything thrown at it from the mill burning down to the youth plus the weather and the winds and the planning authority.
Once again please I would like to apologise for
the hasty comments I made.
I have attached a new photo of the development as it is now.
And what a difference this new housing site has made.
