Issues raised at last nights meeting were problems with street-lighting and environmental litter on Shaw Close. Local residents have indicated that they may want a gate placed near to the junction with Addison Close in order to deter gangs of youths from passing through. A police operation planned over the coming weeks should help to resolve some of these concerns.
A second issue raised was that adults and youths are regularly drinking near to the 'ragged school' on Bent St. There is also a chair that has been dumped by the all-weather football pitch. The local neighbourhood policing team will maintain a high-visibilty presence in this area over the coming weeks and take approriate action against anyone found drinking there. The council will also be contacted in relation to picking up the discarded chair.
