Leonardo Mayer came from behind to upset the odds and beat top seed David Ferrer to win the bet-at-home Open final in Hamburg.

World number 46 Mayer was the outsider heading into the final but the Argentinian showed great powers of recovery to take his maiden ATP tour title with a 6-7 (3/7) 6-1 7-6 (7/4) victory.

Having lost in his first ever final appearance earlier in the year, Mayer has now broken his duck as he prevailed against world number seven Ferrer.
