Kristen Bell has confirmed she is hoping to star in the Broadway adaptation of her hit film Frozen.

The actress voiced Princess Anna in the hugely successful animated movie, which is now being turned into a stage musical.

And Kristen told EW Radio that she would love to be asked to participate.

"I certainly hope that they try," she said, when asked whether Disney would invite her to return.

"Everybody in Frozen is a Broadway veteran so I certainly hope they try and wrangle us."

Loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale The Snow Queen, the Disney animation stars Idina Menzel as snow queen Elsa, who has magical icy powers. Kristen portrays her younger sister Anna, while Jonathan Groff is the voice of mountain man Kristoff.

The film made more than a billion dollars at the global box office and won Best Animated Feature and Original Song at the Oscars.

The Frozen musical is thought to be in the early stages of development.
