Sophie Ellis-Bextor has said she doesn't live her life as a pop star.

The mother-of-three and finalist on last year's Strictly Come Dancing insisted that she lives a normal life.

Sophie, 34, told the Daily Mirror: "I don't live my life as a pop star. I'm a human being."

The singer, who has a new album, Wanderlust, coming out and will be embarking on a UK tour, said her family come first.

"It's made me much more fearless because ultimately if my little boys are OK then I can go and do more crazy stuff," she said.

Sophie reached the Strictly final with Brendan Cole last year.

"They approached me to take part several times, but previously I'd been making dance music and I didn't want to show everybody whether I could dance or not," she said.

"It's a bit of a contradiction to be making a dance album and not be able to dance."
