Brendan Cole has said anyone could be crowned this year's Strictly Come Dancing champion.

The professional dancer, who was partnered with Olympian cyclist Victoria Pendleton in this series, reckons any of the finalists - Kimberley Walsh, Louis Smith, Denise Van Outen and Dani Harmer - would be a worthy winner.

"You could take your pick. Who knows? It's not just about being a dancer," he said.

Brendan - who embarks on his Licence To Thrill tour from January 20 2013 - admitted it is a "shame" he and Victoria were booted out of the BBC competition.

"She was lovely to work with and we had a good time on the show," he added.

"I'm one of the luckiest boys in GB. She's the pride of the nation."

But he added: "Victoria seemed to think that you had to be a brilliant dancer but actually in reality, you have to get involved in the show and embrace the situation."
