Jahmene Douglas has revealed how he plans to spend his first Christmas post-X Factor - by spoiling his mum.

The talent show runner-up is looking forward to spending quality time with his family, and wants to give them the Christmas they've always wanted.

"I've just got us the first real Christmas tree we've ever had, so we've just been freaking out," Jahmene said.

"I've spoiled mum (Mandy) probably the most I've ever spoiled her. I've bought her everything!"

Former Asda shelfstacker Jahmene - who recorded a version of Silent Night for a special online advert for the supermarket chain - has joined celebs to make al music video of Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody for Asda in support of Text Santa.

The singer - who suffered domestic abuse at the hands of his father - has also been named Women's Aid's first ambassador for children and young people.

"I've got the big platform of X Factor, so I thought I should stick it to something quickly, help someone out," the Swindon singer said of his Women's Aid work.

"I need to make sure I use that position and do it properly, just make sure I'm pushing everything in the right direction. I can't just stand here and not do anything."
