Sam Mendes is said to be working on a follow-up to James Bond film Skyfall
Sam Mendes appears to be coming back for another Bond movie.
The Oscar-winning director got behind the camera for his first 007 film, Skyfall, this year, and he is already said to be working the plot for a follow-up.
The news comes as Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who worked on five instalments of the spy series, revealed they are quitting the franchise.
Deadline reports that Robert said: "We're very happy to have done five Bond movies, I think we've gotten it to a good place. I know that John Logan (screenwriter) and Sam Mendes have come up with a plot for another one, which takes the pressure off because these films take up a lot of time."
Neal, who has been writing with Robert for 28 years, added: "We were going to stop with Quantum of Solace, but it's good to go out on a high with Skyfall."
Meanwhile, current 007 Daniel Craig, who has appeared in three Bond films, is contracted for two more.
