I'm A Celeb contestant Helen Flanagan says depression made her quit Corrie
Helen Flanagan has opened up about her panic attacks, as she prepares to live life in the jungle.
The former Coronation Street star, 22, has arrived in Australia to join other campmates for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
In an interview before she flew out, she told Reveal magazine: "I've suffered from depression. It was the main reason I had to leave Coronation Street. I was down and it was very intense. I don't think I was very well."
Helen, who played Rosie Webster since she was nine on the soap, said: "I wasn't happy there any more. I wanted to find my own identity and I didn't feel free - I couldn't be myself or do what I wanted to do."
She said: "I started having the panic attacks...They totally crippled my confidence."
The actress, who lives with Manchester City footballer Scott Sinclair in a £6,500-a-month Cheshire home, admitted: "People will think I'm an ungrateful cow. Like, what's so bad about my life that made me depressed? I have a good job, money, this and that."
Her comments come as newspapers said Helen was in a bad mood as she touched down at Brisbane airport.
The Daily Mirror quoted an insider as saying: "She doesn't seem to realise what she's let herself in for."
