MORE than 80 people battled wind and rain to climb Pendle Hill for a rugby match on Saturday.

Members of Colne and Nelson rugby club walked to the summit before players ranging from a two-year-old to a 70-year-old put on a display for spectators.

Goal posts could not be used because of strong winds so organisers used jumpers instead.

The walk up the hill was held to raise money for the junior section of the 80-year-old club.

Anyone who would like to sponsor the club in future should contact Dave Burrows on 01282 869358.
