RICHARD Murray scored two tries as Burnley got their season up and running with a bonus point victory.
Coach Getty Schinkel called for big improvements after last week’s poor showing against Littleborough and got it in a fine all-round display.
Now he wants his side to play with more consistency - starting at home to St Edwards OB on Saturday.
“It was a great display but we need to do that each week to get back in the division we believe we belong in.
“We’ve worked hard in training but it counts for nothing if we return to old habits.”
Despite running in five tries, Schinkel was just as pleased to see the miss tackle count fall from 72 the previous week to just 29. Flanker Murray was in eye-catching form to touchdown twice while Dominic Leck, playing at scrum half, also scored two tries.
And Greek international winger Alex Mendoros sealed the bonus point with a fifth try. Richard Griffiths kicked two conversion and two penalties.
