BLACKBURN came back from Cumbria empty hand-ed once again after pushing Whitehaven all the way.
Having already lost on their travels to Furness and Workingon, Burn were hoping to make it third time lucky. But silly errors at crucial times cost them as they slipped to their fourth defeat of the season.
Phil Hesketh scored Blackburn’s try which was converted by Paul Bleasdale who also adding three penalties.
Coach John Morgan, who missed the trip, now needs to pick his side up ahead of Saturday’s home game against Heaton Moor.
He said: “We’re not that far away and we just need to get back in to the habit of winning games.
“Individually, the boys played well on Saturday but we just made mistakes at the wrong time.
“It’s a young side but a win will really boost their confidence.”
