UNDEFEATED Blackburn turn their attentions away from league duty as they attempt to move a step closer to a trip to Twickenham.

The North Lancs/Cumbria League leaders - who have won all 19 games they have played this season - travel to Horden with a place in the quarter finals of the national EDF Senior Vase up for grabs.

But while the Ramsgreave Drive club hunt for glory on all fronts, they are still in the Lancashire Trophy, director of rugby Gareth Dyer insists promotion is still the main target.

He said: "It would be great to get to Twickenham and have a nice day out but our main priority is the league.

"We are having a tremendous season on all fronts but winning promotion is what we want and what we are focused on.

"Anything else is just a bonus."

But Blackburn are not taking the EDF Senior Vase lightly knowing they are just three games away from a possible trip to RFU headquarters.

They have had the Durham and North Humberland League Division One side watched on a number of occasions so have an idea of what to expect.

"They are currently fifth in their division with no real chance of winning promotion and no danger of getting relegated.

"So this competition is now their main focus which makes it all the more difficult for us."

The game should have been played at the weekend but was called off on the morning of the tie following a pitch inspection.

It was the only match in the Northern/Midlands section to be called off with Spalding, Sutton Coldfield and Wheatley Hills all winning through.

While the draw for the next round takes place later today, Dyer is looking no further ahead than the trip Horden.

"We will know who we could potential meet in the quarters but that is of no concern to us at the moment.

"We are concentrating on the Horden game and then we return to league duty."

Blackburn are without leadng try scorer Richard Maudsley so fit again Gareth Evans could come in to the starting line-up.
