BLACKBURN coach Dino Radice was delighted to see his team keep their promotion hopes alive with an impressive bonus point victory.

Following a disappointing defeat at Fleetwood last weekend, Blackburn needed to win and they did it in style, scoring four tries in a a fine all-round team display.

Early tries from Richard Maudsley and Danny Holland – both converted by Max Fullalove – put the home team on the way to victory.

“I couldn’t be more pleased,” said player/coach Radice who again picked himself in the starting line-up. “We we were poor last week and if we are to stand any chance of going up we needed to bounce back with a victory “We need to win the games we have in hand and we did just that. We played well from the start, we just need to do this away from home now.”

Burn scored their first try in the fifth minute when Maudsley took the ball at pace from Radice to evade a couple of tackles before Radice again was the provider for scrum half Danny Holland who squeezed over in the corner, Fullalove added the extras to make it 14-0.

Blackburn then showed their defensive qualities to keep Aldwinians at bay before adding a third try, Rob Parker catching and driving from a line-out.

Aldwinians scored a try just before the break but Blackburn underlined their supremacy with a fourth try, Nick Rhodes and Radice both involved in the build-up to Zac Child’s try.

Fullalove converted and although Aldwinians pulled a try back – after Burn captain Luke Copping was sin-binned – it was a well deserved win for Blackburn.
