BURNLEY boy Simon Finnan has taken over the hot-seat at his hometown club but admits it has probably come a few years early.
But the 33-year-old is looking forward to the challenge ahead – and has already set himself a top eight finish in North Lancs One.
Finnan, who coached alongside the now departed Getty Shinkel, will continue to play at outside half.
He said: “It probably has come a few years early but I am really looking forward to he challenge.
“I worked with Getty and coached the junior sides so I am used to it. I’ve already had a look at things and I think we could finish in the top eight.”
Finnan (right) whose first game in charge was the 22-0 defeat at high-flying Hutton may have to wait a while for his first win – the play top-of-the-table Littleborough on Saturday!
