BLACKBURN RUFC Under 16s have just enjoyed their most successful season and are now looking to recruit players for the season ahead.
The Ramsgreave Drive club reached the semi finals of the Lancashire Cup after pool wins against Bolton, Bury, Eccles, Aldwinians and West Park in the quarter final.
The club only lost three games all season, winning 10 and drawing one of their 14 matches.
Next season the team will move into the North West Halbro Colts League (U17) and are now seeking to recruit rugby players from both codes (Union and League) to strengthen its squad in a challenge for honours.
The club will play more than 20 competitive games home and away on Sundays across the North West (Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire and North Staffordshire). Training will take place on Wednesday evenings at 7pm under the guidance of the club’s experienced RFU level 2 and level 1 coaching team.
In addition to rugby on the field, the club has an active and varied ‘off-field’ social scene with our current squad of players coming from Darwen, Blackburn, Chorley, Clitheroe, Preston, Burnley and Colne.
Anyone interested in joining should contact team manager Martin Hallam on 07764 474219.
