BLACKBURN’S chairman of rugby Gareth Dyer said it is time to turn little defeats in to wins after letting another victory slip through their grasp.
The Ramsgreave Drive club enjoyed the lion’s share of possession but yet again had nothing to show for their endeavours.
“I can’t think of another game where we have dominated so much and have had nothing to show for it,” said Dyer. “It was a similar story last week. We bossed the match but couldn’t turn that possession in to points. Now it has happened again.
“Had we won both of those matches, and we should have done, we would have been off the bottom of the table.
“It is time for us to turn these little defeats in to victories.”
Despite dominating the opening period, Blackburn could not find the breakthrough and conceded a line-out try after some sloppy play late in the half.
The try was converted and New Brighton added a penalty to lead 10-0 at the break.
Paul Bleasdale kicked a penalty then scored a try which, crucially, he failed to convert.
Blackburn battered the New Brighton defence in the final 20 minutes but could not get the winning score and another chance was gone.
