BURNLEY’S junior teams have been in impressive form lately with the Under 12s and Under 10s both enjoying good wins away to Bury.
In an entertaining and high-scoring game, Burnley’s Under 12s ran out 56-26 winners.
Burnley scored first against the run of play with a quickly taken penalty from 10 yards out resulting in Austin Reed diving over in the corner the added the extras.
Bury looked the more inventive in the first half and ran in a few tries.
But Burnley hit back through tries of their own from James Henderson and Ed Evans to stay in touch.
But it was a different story after the break with Ralph (2), Evans, Henderson and Cleyn Lennard all scoring tries with Ralph converting all eight tries.
The Under 10s were equally as impressive as they ran in 10 tries against their hosts in a 45-20 win.
Tom Lawson led the try glut with a hat-trick with Luke Needham, Mark Henderson and Emma Wall all scoring two each and Jake Wignall completing the scoring.
Elsewhere, the club’s younger teams took part in a series of non contact games.
Tom Woods and George Fitzpatrick shared the tries in the Under Sevens 7-3 win while Daniel Bullen, Henry Wilkes and Mason Heys all scored for the Under Eights 3-3 draw.
