Accrington Panthers played Orrell St. James in the North West Mens Open Cup on Saturday.
The Saints were first to score a try after 12 minutes then doubled their to lead to 12-0.
The Panthers hit back with a try by winger Lewis Bromley, converted by stand-off Leon Fifield.
Lewis scored again five minutes later; once more the extras were added by Leon to make it 12-12.
Just before the break, Orrell scored to take a six-point lead in to the break.
A quarter of a hour into the second half, Orrell scored once more, but agan the Panthers hit back through prop-forward Ross Brown Five minutes later, Panthers scored again through Johnnie Cunningham to lead 30-24. This time it was Orrell’s turn to fightback to draw level but with a minute remaining, Fifield slotted over a penalty to win 32-30.
