EX-CHORLEY star Nick Haughton has joined the Magpies' National League North rivals Salford City after ending his spell on loan at Victory Park earlier this week.
The 23-year-old was recalled by parent club Fleetwood on Monday, ending a successful stay with Chorley which yielded 13 goals in 26 games, and the Cod Army subsequently sold him to Salford for an undisclosed fee.
Chorley chief executive Dave Riche said: "Nick has secured himself a full time deal with Salford City and there has been a lot of interest in him during his time with Chorley FC.
“We have offered him a shop window to show off his skills after Fleetwood Town loaned him to us and we thank them for giving us an opportunity to help develop him further.
“It goes without saying that we have benefitted as a club during his four and a half month stay, and we always knew he wanted to stay in full time football. Personally, we would like to thank Fleetwood – in particular chairman Andy Pilley - for keeping us in the loop and letting us know as soon as a deal had been done, and we are working with them to try and strengthen our squad further.
“The task now is to continue our winning ways and get back into the play-off places and progress further as a club.”
Chorley are on the road at struggling Darlington on Saturday.
